Clutch Cover won't sit flush, most of my hair is gone.

I had this issue, it took forever to dig up a solution, Ala this thread. I followed the "turn and press" (had to lightly tap, once I found a spot that wanted to let it in a bit) and got the cover on...
A few miles later, the drive gear on the oil pump sheared. Boooooooo. Missed the big ride for the Queen City Mods and Rockers Rally. My fault for binding the gears, I'm sure. So, for future searchers, watch out for this!!!

Yeah, if you have to tap it, then it's gonna end badly. This thing should just slide right in there all easy like. Sorry bout the trouble, sir.
