CM400 Upper Triple Tree Question

Anybody know if a cb360 or cl360 upper tree will fit directly onto a 1980 CM400. I have the stamped top tree that I cannot lower the forks with and want to switch to the style with the bolts so that I can lower the front a little. Let me know what you guys think or what other top tree works. I do know that they are 33mm forks and the cb360 and cl has the same.

Well, you should swap both trees if you're going to do it because it's unlikely that the fork offset is the exact same between both models. Also, it will depend on the steering stem bearings. Looking at Hoosier Daddy's post in this forum, it looks lik a set of trees from a 74-76 CB360 have the same bearing sizes as your bike.

So I don't see why you couldn't do it.

I have a whole fork assembly... Just need to find that other upper.. Cleaning the garage one night this week.. I WILL FIND IT.
