COLOR MTCHING PAINT CB750

Been Around the Block
I HAVE A HONDA 1975 CB750 THAT I'M PAINTING THE SIDE COVERS AND FIBERGLASS SEAT ON... FROM WHAT I'VE READ THE PAINT COLOR FOR THAT YEAR IS PLANET BLUE METALIC HM-16-505... I CALLED MY LOCAL AUTO PAINT SUPPLIER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THAT LISTED AS ONE OF THE HONDA PAINT COLORS... THEY SAID THEY COULD COLOR MATCH THE TANK TANK PAINT COLOR WHICH I COULD ALWAYS GO THAT ROUTE... I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE I'M ASKING FOR THE RIGHT COLOR... THANKS

i've read the rattle can bling thread over and over... i think that might be the best way to go about it... i guess when i get to the paint shop with the tank i'll have to ask them about a compatable clear coat....

I am just putting this out there for you, Most of the paints you get paint matched and canned are way different that the off the shelf store bought variety, you will have to modify my method from rattlecan bling to use them! You won't use as many coats and you will not sand the color coat at all! Prime> wet sand> color coat> clear coat> wet sand> little more clear coat> buff> wax> rock! Allow plenty of dry time from color to clear! Like a week! KEEP IT ALL CLEAN AND USE ACETONE!
