Concern over timing chain grooves

So I have a concern regarding the head I have here ready to be put back together and onto my Honda CB200.

I was cleaning out the whole deal with some simple green and brush, trying to get it as clean as possible. When I was finished I noticed a small piece of the case where the timing chain had rubbed into the side long ago had broken off. The hole in question is for the tensioner bar. So my question is, is this head still usable? I am a tad concerned the strength of the metal is compromised and might fail in the future, allowing the tensioner to fall out and wreck havoc on everything else. Am I being paranoid?

Not a lot of good heads on the ebay, and I would need to start from square one again. I've already machined and lapped the valves for this one. It's clean as a whistle and painted, so if it will be okay I'd rather use this one.

Or any way to reinforce it perhaps?

Just had a thought, what about welding? If I had someone put down some metal to fill the grooves (without wrecking the slot for the tensioner), that should work I think?

Yep ^^^ David is right (as usual) take it to a machine shop that welds, should be a straight forward easy fix.

Oh and please return here with the results with pictures... I fucking hate when people ask good questions and never return with the solution.

Not the prettiest weld job, but it'll work. Guy said he had a hard time getting his welder in the slot (it's only about an inch and a half wide). Little bit more clean up and she should be good to go

Looks fine to me, a little dremel work and it could be better, but who's gonna see it

Next time ask if the welder dood had a glass lens and a longer chunk of tungsten ;)

To be honest I have no idea what he did. They are one of the few (if not only) machine shop in town. This town is very...uh..... sterile, I'll call it. Motorcyclists are still seen as rebel scum and I don't know of a bike shop in town either. Oh well...
