Connecting this to that.

I thought my rearsets would come with this piece, I thought wrong. What's it called and where can I get one? The piece that connects the rearset shifting rod to the stock shift location. My bike is a CB200.

p.s. has anyone ever just made one our of stock shift arm? I figure I could just cut it down and drill a hole in it?

Yes. You can cut it down and drill a hole in the stock one. Make sure there's enough play for it to rotate, though.

What you are looking for is a heim joint.

If in fact it IS the shift lever that he needs, then yes Byrdo, you can cut it and drill a hole.

If you are cutting one down then you need to make sures that
A; It clears the case at the correct angle
B; Is the correct length to shift gears without excessive effort

yep that's what I'm lookin for. I drilled a hole (without cutting just yet) and it seems to work alright on the down shift but horribly on the upshift. I think I'm going to drill another hole tomorrow that is a little farther up for more leverage. Too many holes though and this thing's just going to break in half! I'll probably order one of those shift levers from DCC to be safe, but at least this will get me through the week that I wait for it to come :D

Both arms need to be parallel. If they are leaning away from each other or towards each other, shifting becomes very stiff in at least one direction.

Hey I tried what you said and got them parallel, still havin a really hard time shifting.

Just got it figured out, made a post on my issues on my build thread in my sig. Thanks for the help everyone!
