Correct me if I'm wrong....

On a 1972 Honda CB350K, I'm of the opinion that there should be no oil under the alternator cover. That is a place that should be dry and if there is oil on there there is a seal that is FUBAR. Are these correct statements?

I'm asking because I pulled the cover off and had oil there and it just didn't seem right.

You are incorrect. There is a small amount of oil that will drain out from behind that cover. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks!!! The sight of oil got my pucker factor elevated and I quit for the night to contact the sages for reassurance! My upset is calmed.

Yes thats right there will be some oil not alot
