Ct90 stalls out

Coast to Coast
Okay, my 1969 ct90 has a very specific problem. It starts first kick, choke on, and I can quickly switch it off and it will idle. It will rev, but as soon as I put any load on it (try to move) it dies. It will get going if I leAve the choke on.

What is this indicative of?

I've bought a $25 carb on eBay to replace the old one but I'de have to fab a mounting plate.

Help!

It's a stock size idle jet that I just got done cleaning (perhaps not thoroughly enough?) and a NOS intake and boots. My overflow on the carb is dripping gas constantly, so I can't really fuck with float height at the moment. Guess I'll play with tha needle. Shoulda thought of that.

If your overflow is dripping constantly I'd think maybe go ahead and check that float height, no?

Man, I bought new floats, new gaskets, Orings, jets, new float needle and seat, rebuilt the petcock, everything.... Can't get the fucker to stop dripping fuel.

I haven't checked to see if it's the actual overflow tube itself that is cracked, but I will next time I split the carbs, which will probably be soon

Took the carb apart, cleaned, again. raised the needle to it's highest setting. It still acts up.

Any other potential culprits?
