Custom CB450 tires

Hi guys,

I'm undecided on what tires to get for my CB450 brat. I thinking either the Kenda K761's or the Shinko 705's, both of which I've heard good things about. For size I was thinking 120/80-18 for the rear and 110/80-19 for the front. Both these tires don't come in 120/90 trim for the rear if I were to go with a 100/90 front. Can I mix and match aspect ratios? For example, 100/90-19 Front, and 120/80-18 for the rear?

Way too wide for the stock rims. I am running a 110 rear and 100 front and I am regretting it. Get a 90/90 19 front and 100/90 18 rear. You will be much happier riding. Trust me.

Seconded (because that's how lingo and I roll, ha ha ha). I run the Shinkos 110/90 in the rear and 100/90 in the front and they are fantastic.

You can mix aspect ratios, but what do you gain with a tire that wide on the stock rim? Hint: not traction.

Sorry cutie I can't quit you without a restraining order

You know Rich, I have met Lingo and his face doesn't look anything like his avatar. I used to have a crush on him too until I realized his face didn't look like a mug of beer.

Ok, so I'm pretty decided on the Kenda K761 dual sport tires so 110/80-18 for the rear and 100/90-19 for the front? Is that ok since the aspect ratios are different?

Also, does anyone have pictures of their set ups?

Mine looks similar but without cool pipes and the paint's worse

no pirelli rear and bridgestone front. Didn't know what you wanted pics of. Rich, those pipes could be yours. I have cooler pipes going on

I could be convinced to agree with everything you say for the rest of your life if you wanted to get rid of those.

Tidybol, I just put new tires on my 450 and I'll be taking it for a long, cold ride tomorrow. I'll try to get a picture without shivering through the camera too much. :)

Great, thanks! If you do grab a shot can you get one straight on from the back? I'm trying to get a sense of the width. Wow, that sounded dirty... ;D

Okay, wife has weighed in on me taking a 140 mile trip at 5am in 30 degree weather, and it sounds like I'm sleeping in.

Here's what they looked like before I put new rubber on (same width):
