Custom Seat Cover

Hey guys, so I wanted to take a stab at creating a custom seat so I purchased some upholstery foam, leather, backing board, and used some 3M spray glue to make this seat cushion.

But the hard part will be sewing the leather into a suitable cover.

My question is do any of you know someone that I can send the seat and leather to to get it finished?

Thanks in advance.

You will not be able to just wrap it with one piece of leather and expect it to be smooth. You will need to make panels to match the sides, as well as a top panel. Sew them together and your cover will wrap nicely. Most upholstery guys and gals can do this with eyes closed.

Yeah that's exactly what I need someone to do for me.

I was hoping for some recommendations.

That's like asking where is a good place to buy a hamburger. Where are you located? Look on google maps for "auto upholstery" based on your location. Sure you COULD ship it off, but that's just asking for problems.

Hey man, usually auto shops look confused when you take this stuff to them, but if you break through to them they can certainly do it. Another idea is to google "motorcycle upholstery" and there are tons of shops out there.

Also, if you're dead set on shipping it to someone who knows all things cafe racer, send it to New Church in Portland. Just call her and talk through it,, email some pics and off you go. She can do it from scratch for about $225.

Took the cover to a local auto upholsterer... Will show off the finished product.
