Cyclon batteries

Hey all, I'm in the process of building a small 6v bike and have just bought a Cyclon sealed battery as supposedly they can be mounted on their side, which will make it easier to fit under the tail. It has spade connectors (rather flimsy) rather than standard terminals and was wondering if anyone has fitted a similar battery and how it performed? thanks in advance.

I'm not aware of that brand specifically but I assume this is one of the sla batteries not designed for motorbikes. There is a blog by a British guy who used a 12 volt one in his xs400 Street tracker which you should be able to google and find. He had issues with them stopping working after a few months. They're designed for alarm backup not high drain starting

Spade terminals are fine and if you are that scared of them you could always create a pigtail of sorts so that you could have a bullet connector so you are never removing the spade connector.

The type of battery you are referring to is AGM which does not have liquid in it and can be mounted in any position and be charged like any other battery.

The part that is most important tho is the mAh of the mAh as too small and it'll never have enough juice for you to ride. So at the minimum you'd want a 5mAh or 6mAh hour battery to work.

That battery choice will likely be OK so long as you're not using the electric start. If you do plan to use the electric start, get a battery designed for bikes.

cheers guys, the bike doesn't have a starter, kick only, and the battery is 8ah same as the original so shouldn't be a problem.
