It was not my bike, after the movie, it was the only one left out of three parked there. Parking on the sidewalk, only encourages the public to sit on them, as though they are free toys for everyone.
In London (UK) you'll see bikes parked on the sidewalk all the time cos the motorcycle bays are few and far between and always full. If you look closely you'll see they are generally under the overhang of a building. This is what we used to do so that they are technically on private property not the public footpath.
