Daytona Party!!??

Hey people!

I'm not sure if anyone would be interested or not, but have you ever thought about having a 'gathering' to watch the Daytona 200 in March? I was at one a couple of years ago and it was a blast! It may be a little late to do it up in a big way, but if there was interest, we could at least get together and have some fun kicking off the 2008 season!

I'm not even sure at this point what the date is for the race. Usually it's telecast on 'Speed', but I'm not sure of that either!

Thoughts? Comments? Yes? No?

I haven't been able to spend much time on the net today, so the best info I have at this time is the afternoon of March 8th on Speed. I'll do my best to get precise info tonight.

Watching the races on Fugue's 100 inch big-screen, as we all fly to Vegas in his family's private lear jet, for a weekend of partying at his privately owned casio resort!!....Count me in!!

Actually, I'd be happy with cold beer and chips with a 19" B&W out in someone's heated garage!!! ;D ;D I think you guys might be 'out of my league'!! :

you can't watch a race of this caliper on a 19" b&w tv. if you are any where near st. louis, MO on the 8th, you are welcome to join us. our local race club takes over this bar (Kilroy's) for the day right next to Busch Stadium and there's usually 3-4 races aired that day. they've got 4 huge flat screens. we usually host a bike show in the parking lot also. gives people something to look at between races. ;D

Definite interest. Shame if Speed is the only option, though I suppose it is. Their coverage of Grand Prix bike stuff is lamentable. Must confess, I've never seen the Daytona race. Except of course, for Duhamel's amazing step-out, endo and remount in 06. Now that's entertainment. Count me in if you can get the venue together. I don't even get Speed anymore here in High Park on the basic cable setup.

Hey Karen!! Sounds like a GREAT event!! THAT'S what we need to get goin' here!! An outdoor bike show might be 'sketchy'. Snowmobiles maybe!! :
