I'm not arguing the art work and proofing price, but he ripped you a new one on the cutting charge. My guy gets a $15 minimum and that gets you one linear foot of 14" or 24" material (what ever he is using at the time) and however many you can fit on that page as it is wasted material after he prints your emblems on them.

Does look good tho...and if you're happy with it that's what matters. Might hunt lower prices if you do it again.

So your guy charges you $15 for each color?...$30 for two-colors? I paid $35 for two colors (pink and black). Seems as if we're in the same ball park...or am I missing something?

Jeez dude... cant you be just happy for him? You can get everything cheaper so it seems.
GOOD FOR YOU. As his decals are already on, he's likely not going to do any more tanks or decals in the near future and he's happy with it, all your post did was let him feel bad about a nice piece of work. To me, thats not nice.

on topic..

Looks amazing! The red has a nice sparkle in it.. whats that?

I'm happy that he is happy with the end result. I'm just trying to point out that a ton of money can be saved if you just do a little research first. If you have money to throw away then that's great, I wish I were in that position but I'll never have so much that I will throw it away unnecessarily. I assume by his statement of getting the right shade of pink that it is a printed decal and time spent for your $35 art charge should include any and all colors involved. It's just computer programming and the printer spits out all the colors you told it to. My guy charges $15 to cut/weed/mask 1/lf of material, has nothing to do with the artwork that's already been done and paid for at $35. If I don't need 100 of the same sticker I will have him fill the page with other decals, doesn't change the $15/lf price.

Rich basically agreed with me .just used fewer words to say so.

I do get everything cheaper because I am a firm believer that you should never have to pay retail for anything and with due diligence you won't have to.

I think it came out pretty sweet.

Consider it $15 for printing and $20 for the consulting work - listening to what your needs were and taking the time to print something the customer wants, not a mass produced P.O.S.

You must have misunderstood, it was $70 total. $35 for consulting and art work and another $35 for printing

You could find a fabrication shop that has access to a CNC plasma table. My buddy has a start up fabrication company in the work. He just built one of these...still in the works, but he has mad skills. Check out www.theturtlelab.com and contact him (Joey) about it.

For those of you who may not be Hispanic...Sancha is slang for "the other woman". I've spent so much time on this CB500T project and have been skimming the grocery money for so long, that my wife accuses me (half-jokingly) of having a "Sancha". "Tell Sancha" she'll say, "I need you to put out the trash"...tell Sancha not to spend all our money"..."when you're through with Sancha just remember where your family lives"....and so on.

So I figure since this bike has been my Sancha, I might as well label her as such. I do intend to ride her hard when she's completed...which will be soon. I've got lots of images to post when the time is right.

I can relate.

Finished job looks good, and if you are satisfied with the price, then you did just fine. That would have set me back about the same amount, the tank decals I'd like to have made will run over $100. That I can't even remotely spare right now.
