Hello!

My names John and im from the Chicago land area, I'm fairly new to the website but from what I've seen its awesome! So, I have recently purchased a 1969 Honda CD175. It's my first street legal bike, and so far its been great just zipping around town as is. It runs great, the paint / chrome is a little rough, but for a 40+ year old bike I'm very pleased with its condition. Right now I'm torn between trying to restore it, or to start making a little cafe racer. I know that it's a very rare bike, and i've been given suggestions from both sides of the argument, so I'm still looking for more suggestions i guess.

Thanks all.

Welcome John, I'm in Chicago area too. Its a great looking bike, I personally would restore it, but that's just me. I love the way the 60s bikes look as is....

I'm always in the do what you want crowd, but from the looks of this thing you can either make an ok cafe that has little monetary value, or keep it as a bad ass 60's bike that would gain value if restored.

Welcome to DTT!

Restore it.

If it was further down the road, wear and tear wise, Id say go cafe but its not. Also, its difficult (in my opinion) to really make a good looking cafe styled bike using the old 60s stamped framed bikes.

Restore it and use it as it was meant to be, and while your doing that, find a nice cheap pile of junk with a title to cafe.

Welcome Brother! I agree, that is a beautiful motorcycle you have there and if it were mine I would definately keep it stock and restore it!

Usually I go with the whole "forget stock" plan, but I have to admit its a very nice / rare bike you have there, would definitely be hard for me to cut that one up.

Thanks for all the input guys. This is definatley going to be a bike I'll ride often around town and such. And hopefully later on ill find a good deal on another bike to start a cafe project with.
