Dies while in Idle... want to transform this bike soon

82' Nighthawk 450

Hi, my bike turns off when in idle.

I changed the float needles of the carbs, charged my bat, put gas ect.

When the Choke is on Bike rides and sounds great once choke is off bike idles and shuts off...

Any ideas??

Also Below are my inspirations for my bike... Perhaps you can give me pointers and or different ideas of where to chop ect...

Really bad air filter.

Clean your carbs in some sort of liquid and blow out the passageways with compressed air.
