We had our first DGR in Tel Aviv on Friday (Sunday is a work day here), i had the pleasure of being one of the organizers.
at first we didn't expect many riders, would have been happy if 12-15 show up.
boy were we surprised...
Friday morning was lovely and sunny but less hot the July-august, i wore my dapper clothes and waxed my moustache, hoped on my Suzuki GSX400 brat and rode the 30 miles to our starting point.
the gathering was from 10:30 until 11:30, by 11:15 we had a riders briefing regarding the route, re-group points and safety. by that time i counted little over 50 motorcycles, WOW!
For a small country with lack of real "moto-culture" this is amazing, just shows that people are hungry for these events and a chance to meet with other bike guys.
the ride itself went flawlessly, 2 bikes didn't finish due to mechanical problems but that was all.
We were quite an attraction on the city streets and many many people stopped their cars to take pictures.
we rode thru the main street of Tel aviv and finished at a Nice "Beer garden" style establishment right at the most centre square of the city.
Feedback from the riders was amazing, everyone enjoyed themselves very much and i hope it's a beginning of a tradition over here, with more rides and events for this excellent community.

That's us the organizers (i'm the big ugly guy ;-))
