Do I need a new petcock? (69' CB350 K2)

dlngro

1969 Honda CB350 K0
Kick started bike, idled well for sixty seconds then shut off...
One of my clear fuel filters was barely full of gas and the other was completely filled...
Leading me to believe the petcock to be the reason one why one gas line was not staying full, not feeding the carburetor connected to it enough gas and causing my problem.

There's a crack in the stem of the petcock, not sure if that's a big problem or not???

I'm also keeping in mind that there could be a problem with the fuel line/fuel filter but I am currently waiting on new translucent fuel line so I'm able to see what's happening.

Here are some pictures front today:

I mean it doesnt look pretty... Can you blow air through the nipples?

Yeah solder should seal up the reserve tube or a thin coat of JB Weld. A new set of gaskets will also help.

i know this might sound like amateur hour but i have used heat shrink successfully with cracked tubes. works really well... just make sure its not wet when you heat shrink it :)

I have a used petcock you can have for free if you want to try it out, i just pulled it off a tank i got in the mail yesterday and I'm assuming it works since it came off a working bike

Never thought of heat shrink. I assume it holds up against the fuel?

Yea actually it did. I was really surprised. Used it on a float bowl over flow and it lasted over two years.

Thanks Finnigan, my buddy has one from a wrecked CB350. If the shape of his isn't any better, I will let you know!
