Put lubricant on EVERYTHING you assemble in your engine.
Try Lucas assembly oil for a nice sticky lube that stays in place (great for the piston pin) and motor oil for things like bearings and what not that will spin quickly.
Just make sure you don't lube between the main bearings and crank case lol. I only say this because I know someone who did this and was lucky enough to ask before continuing their build. Good luck!
Where do you mean between the bearing and case? You mean on the outer race of the bearing where it sits dry in the crank case?
I can appreciate the lack of need to do that, and a thin film of oil might cause tolerance issues with the bearing fit, but would like to understand better what you mean.

On a ball bearing motor (CB360) it won't make any difference
I use a mixture of assembly lube and engine oil on most parts.
NEVER oil cylinder or rings, (unless you want to spend about 10,000 miles doing break in)
