There's pretty much nobody better at sourcing and providing awesome parts for your projects than the folks at Dime City Cycles, and without sounding too pompous, I think it's fair to say DO THE TON is the place to be if you want to explore new ideas in bike building and share your thoughts and opinions with the biggest group of people in the world who all feel like your best buds.

So, it just sort of makes sense for us to work more closely together in serving the worldwide community! Our good friends at DCC are now the official supplier of DTT merch! Over the next little while you'll see a growing variety of items you can grab from the boys at very fair prices - much better than having to go through Zazzle or the like.

The most important thing is to make sure you all are seeing and getting what you want from us, so here's the poop - we're looking for your input on t-shirt designs and product ideas. Be it new patches, t-shirt designs, decals, work-shirts...

To start, we're opening the floor to your design submissions for a new DTT t-shirt. Whether you have a complete soup-to-nuts design for a shirt or just some inspirational ideas, we wanna see them!

So hit up the DCC banner ad at the top and hunt down the DO THE TON category at the top of the SWAG menu to grab yourself some of our classic 4" patches, and keep checking in to see what else shows up!

So very awesome. So very, very awesome. I would love to get my hands on a nice DTT work shirt.

I have a couple ideas for some new t-shirts, but im computer design software illiterate. Ill enlist the help of another member if yinz are interested.

Any way us Canadians can get better shipping rates? Sure they have sweet parts, but the lowest qoute on the smallest thing is 28 bucks to Toronto.

Yeah, sadly that sucks for us Canucks. One thing I've done from time to time, especially for bigger things worth the trip, is have items shipped to the UPS shop in Niagara Falls NY.

They charge a $10 fee I think and $1 / day to hold things. Then just drive down and pick up.

Now, if it's $28 for something small, maybe the guys can sort something more economical out. Their site is likely using some default shipping rates. I've seen $100 shipping quotes for small things on eBay based on their calculators - sometimes these things are wonky.

Contact them directly to confirm shipping rates before giving up on ordering parts. Also, feel free to post up and maybe we can do a group order from them to save shipping costs.

That is an awesome partnership! I can't wait for the DTT T-shirts to be available. As far as other product ideas, I would love a Large DTT patch for the back of my jacket. :)

Awesome, I have a few Ideas...I will get some out to you guys in a few days....time to get in photoshop and get some ideas into digital media!

Thanks for the intro Tim!

Guys, we're beyond excited with this new opportunity! Since we came to DTT several years ago and experienced the fundamental differences here that has what has driven and inspired us to do what we're doing with Dime City Cycles. This is our home and you all are our brethren. In our minds, it's our obligation to make sure you guys have the right stuff when you need it to keep all our dreams alive.

Which, for some reason, happens to be restoring these rusted old buckets of love that leak oil, blow smoke and dig through our wallets like a long night in NYC.. Still, it's our passion and that common thread binds us all. We're honored to share the DTT mark and look forward to leveraging our delivery mechanisms and growth to help cultivate new and exciting stuff for the DTT crowd.

That said!

If you guys hit the new DTT swag section of the DCC site (link here: http://tinyurl.com/3aa4q39) you will notice that we currently have the 4" patch online. We have a handful left in stock and should be receiving a new bulk shipment within 1-2 weeks. The plan on the patches is to send them out normal post like Tim has been doing to help with the shipping.

[On a side note, we have heard the comments about somethings being a bit more expensive to ship to Canada and we wanted to let everyone know that we are working on a solution. Herm has been toiling away like a mercenary fighting with chains and knives with domestic carriers like USPS, UPS and FedEx to come to an agreement for a good rate structure for our brothers in the great white north. He will chime in with some updates soon, I'm sure.]

We're currently printing a run of the classic DTT shirts. Black with the large logo on the back and smaller 4" logo on the center of the chest. I'm curious how many people would like to see them with the large logo on the front? Any takers? We will be printing them on the super slick vintage fit shirts we've been running the DCC originals line on, and everything is done by hand right here in Dime City, just the way you guys like it.

After we have a good supply of those we would like to print a second design, which we want to reach out to the community for ideas on, as Tim stated above. Like I said earlier, DTT is a family, and we feel you guys should have just as much input on the creative direction of the marquee as us.

So! Let 'em rip boys...post of text ideas, scanned copies of artwork on napkins or whatever you got. Theres no formal submission end date but we'd like to wrap it up in a month or two at the most so we can get them out there.

Once that's completed and printed we're going to expand into some other cool items like: skull caps with the logo embroidered, trucker caps, hooded sweatshirts and a bitchin' DTT shop shirt similar to the DCC one we just released which can be seen here: http://tinyurl.com/2ehooxg

Start thinking about ideas for that as well.. We've been thinking custom name patches on the front, a speedo patch with the needle at just over 100MPH above the other front pocket (Tim's idea!), a large 4" DTT patch on one sleeve and the web address www.dotheton.com on the other, similar to where we have the "Nil Satis Nisi Optimuim" on ours then, on the back, the large DTT logo screen printed.

Much to think about!!! Looking forward to everyones input and ideas!

Jason

this is very exciting!

and big thanks to Herm for looking out for Canadian folk! High shipping prices can often be a deal breaker.

Cool news guys.

As far as the large logo on the front, i'd have to say skip it. I have two shirts with large screen printed logo's on the front and i don't like to wear them due to the feeling of having a plastic bag on my chest. And they bunch funny when sitting/moving/wrenching. My .02$ but thought i'd share, keep the logo's on the back.

I'm not graphically talented but how about a black/white graphic design T-shirt with vintage font 'Do the Ton' underlining a hot cafe bike?

Funny - I've always done the logo on the front large, as often I'm wearing my leather jacket over the shirt, so having the logo hidden on the back is kind of wasted.

I'm open to any and all design ideas - let's see some brought to fruition! Draw something!
