Does anyone have any advice on making new muffler or cutting stock can

Im looking to replace my god awful stock can on my k75 with either a short pipe and pipe end or just cutting the pipe in half. The bike is fuel injected so Im aware Id have to compensate for lost back pressure. should I pack it with a bit of steel wool or weld a tip on to it? Any advice?

I recently had to repack the not stock can on my CB 350. It turns out that I had to buy new baffles to replace the nonexistent ones that were in it. The only thing that would fit were Harley dragpipe baffles. I got some 8 inch ones and wrapped the first 4 inches of them. They sound fantastic. Kind of gives my bike that sound like you put a bunch of bees in a can and hit it with a stick. 8)

They come in a variety of sizes so you could fit them into anything from a pipe that's been cut off, or ones that have the pipe stepped up if you want to not impede airflow. They do offer a small amount of back pressure as well.
