Does anyone like the stock seats?

Coast to Coast
On say a Honda 360/350?
Is it me or does anyone else like the look of the stock seats with say clubman bars? I am building my 360T right now and I like the seat from Dime City Cycles but also like the orgional seat on my Honda.

I have also thought about taking the seat cover off and shaving the foam down on the origional seat. Anybody try that? Curious how it looks.

Anyone have pictures of the stock seat on thier Hondas with other mods that they have done? Would like to just get an idea of the look.

Maybe I am just getting old......

Tim- that was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the link! You seat turned out good!

It was my first (and only) try at upholstery. Wasn't too hard, and it was nice to keep the stock seat in place, especially on a relatively stock bike. I sold the bike a while later back in 100% stock form with a NOS seat on it.

I think the stock seat looks good with a mild cafe job/clubmans. I think the straight line profile is what makes it work.

I do too. I am almost thinking of just shaving down the foam 2" (if it allows) and having it recovered. I like just a straight seat (no hump in the back). But, I also like the seat that Dime City has in the picture above.

Will have to maybe pick up and old seat to mess with. Mine is just in to great of shape to start hacking at it.

The only way to learn is to get in and try! Picking up a spare seat is a good idea...... I used an electric carving knife to cut the foam down on my CB750 seat. It takes a bit of practice, but definitely doable.

Yes.

Not really sure why people think "cafe racers" have to have impractical bump seats. Can't carry a broad on the back of a slippery fiberglass shell. The modern assumption of what you "have to have" to build a cafe is pretty far off base from cafes of the period.

+1 on the full seat. I'm doing a shaved down seat with the original seat pan on my build. And, in part, for the reason Davis stated. Bitches gotta have a place to sit and a the fiberglass bump ain't the bump I want them to ride!

As much as I like some of the shaved, bump seats, I like a straight-line seat, and in addition, at 6'2", I just find the extra height of a '70's, early '80's "standard" seat to be the most comfortable.

Just my opinion...

I really like the looks of that bike in the last pic. CB 550? It's exactly how I am heading with my 360. Stock fenders, seat. Just wish the 360 had better side panel covers. Hate how they are plastic.
