Don R, new arrival CL100 to GL1000

Hello, I just traded for a 72 Honda CL100 project. I've been around bikes for a while, I bought a new cb500 in 1973 then a K4 cb750 before taking a few years off. Then after my kids were mostly raised I drug home 3 free cb750 parts bikes in hope of building one. Since then, a few early 750's, a couple 400F's, a cb900c and an xs850.
Last winter I found a $250 Goldwing so I bought it, fixed it up a little and rode it 15 hours straight through to Sturgis and 15 back just because people said I wouldn't.

Recently I got the cl100 Searching for a wiring diagram led me here. hopefully I can learn a little and share what I've picked up along the way. I'm also coaching a couple young bike owners near here. CM400 and CX500 I think.

Ha! I bought a $275 Goldwing but now I'm about another $1200 deep in it.

HA! I'm about $1200+ into my wing now too. The things people do to an old bike just ain't right. I've got it mostly fixed, it still chugs if you don't warm it up good. Someone put 83 GL 1100 carbs on it but it's a 79 1000. Some people thought it was a speed secret. Not really.

I'm located in Galesburg Illinois, West Central between Peoria and the Quad cities.
