Drilled Rotor

Just saw this on ebay, that front brake rotor makes me cringe.

I have a rear rotor with less metal, but not a front. There's a rule about hole size and density versus disk thickness and diameter and I suspect that one is the wrong side of the line.

Gotta agree on the rotor, but it looks like the guy drilled and tapped in a port with which to use compressed air to remove the piston from the caliper. More than likely no more dangerous than having a bleeder in the caliper.

Honestly, I kinda like it. The tail is a little big for my taste, but it seems about on par with what gets built here on DTT (on average), and it is not grossly over priced.

Structurally speaking, there's nothing wrong with the hole on the caliper. I work with high pressure water, oil, and air lines, tapped holes, etc every day at work. If it was going to blow, it would force the piston out the front and warp the rotor/bolts. Besides, I doubt any of us are silverback gorrilas with the hand strength to squeeze the lever into submission and not blow a seal elsewhere first. But anyways... im not crazy about the battery size, but maybe he's a poor bastard like me who can't always afford a nice gel pack...

Im going back to my garage now...
