DTT mentors? Any takers... figured it might be a good idea... since I need one.

While I was working on my bike last night I thought of something. What if some "more experienced" member's of the forum offered to take some of us "lesser experienced" folk under their wings for a sort of mentorship. That way we wouldn't have to feel stupid about posting simple basic questions, we could just PM our "mentor." It's not like we're going to hold hands and skip through a field of daisies or anything... just an idea. Whaddaya think?

I think you'll find that everyone here who knows anything about anything will be happy to answer your questions, even if they're basic. Do a Search first if you can, to try to find the answer first, but feel free to post your questions.

Chances are, if you have a "dumb" question, ten others do as well - and everyone will learn from a public Q & A rather than a private one ;)
Plus, eventually all the threads will form a searchable database of answers that's a valuable resource.

I agree with Tim and flashman but, with that said, if you don't feel like posting your question, feel free to PM anyone on the board. Most of the members here are very approachable and will go out of their way to help you. You may even formulate you own mentor/mentee relationship that way. If they don't, just let us know and we'll kick them off the board ;D

Hell yeah man, THe guys(and gals) on here are great.... If it wasn't for people answering my "dumb" questions, mybike would probably still bein pieces instead of flying down the road! :)

The great thing about this forum is that most people here seem to operate under the same concept,

There are no stupid questions, only stupid mistakes.

Ask any and all questions. :) I think that the folks around here are more than willing to help out everyone who needs it.

While I am a bit of a lurker(I use the search bar a lot), I can honestly say that this is one of the friendliest forums I've ever been on. There doesn't seem to be all that "I'm smarter than you, noob!" that occurs on most other websites.
Don't be afraid to ask questions! (after searching)

I've never asked a stupid question before.  So I'll be pissed off if there are 100 new threads of questions, jeeeeeeeze.

No, but I don't think that the HELP section has ever slowed down, there is always a shit ton of information being posted.  Generally posts are responded to in a couple hours, take advantage of the no-flaming aspect of DTT.  Also, many, many, many questions have been answered there, take some time to look through all the really good threads.
*edit*
<--- I still chuckle every time.
