I figure it's time I start a thread for the bike, it's slowly coming along, I stripped the bike down, all parts were easy to remove, almost too easy in some cases, till I got to the swing arm, I ended up having to drill the swing arm bolt, so now I'm in the process of getting new bushings and bolt turned because nothing is available according to my online searches, fenders are still MIA, I'd like to find then before I get to painting.
I'm going to get the tank dipped at a local rad shop to remove the rust, then to the body shop to have dents removed, any holes braized, then primed and Por15 the inside.
The forks and shocks will get the RaceTech treatment.
The motor will be rebuilt this winter.
I've ordered a ton of parts, mostly stock replacement parts, that is till I get to the bars, I'm using Terozzi clipons, Domino race throttle, the original Verlicchi brake & clutch levers, Motogadget grips, mirror, and Blaze Disk bar end blinkers, I'm going to recess mount switches into the bars, with M-Wave flasher, and some fancy relay setup to activate the blinker (for a preset time) with a single button press, everything will be hidden within the bar(I hope)other then some wires for power.
I dismantled the front wheel in preparation for re-plating the rim, polishing the hub, and ordering SS spokes to replace the galvanized spokes, I have yet to have the rear tire removed... The wheel bearings have been ordered from All Balls.
The biggest jobs to do are:
The swing arm
Powder Coating
Polishing all the Aluminum
Plating all the bits and pieces
Soda blasting the motor and hubs
Fixing the rear brake switch mount(welding/filling the too big of a hole and re-drilling)
Painting
Pictures to come... Since I'm out at the moment.
