I have decided I want to install electronic ignition in my CL350.
I have been looking at the Bore-Tech BT-05EL. They say in the description that they recommend 3 ohm coils with the ignition's progressive dwell control feature.
I am looking at Dyna coils. Is here any difference between the regular DC3-1 and DC3-2 coils besides one being mini in size?
I am also installing Ricks Motorsport Electrics "Hot Shot" High Output Charging Kit because I want to run a brighter headlight. Is there anything else I need to replace to make all of this work properly?
There is supposed to be circuitry in the BoreTech ignition to support the 3 ohm coils. I will contact them directly to verify.
Is there anything I am overlooking?
Boretech is expensive and probably a bit over engineered for a street bike. I'm running the Pamco on my CB350 and it works amazing and is 1/3 of the cost of the Boretech. www.cb350ignition.com
It's for my CB350 and I did follow the instructions. I'm guessing I installed the aluminum camshaft piece in the wrong position. So I went back to points for now and it fires right up.
DrJ. I couldn't get mine to work either. I tried everything I could think of. Direct power source, changing rotor position. I am sending my unit back to Pete to see if there is something wrong with it. I put my points back in and it fired right up.
