Eleanor Rigby : 1985 Rebel 250 Bobber... The Dead Are Walking

No, I did this last winter before I really found this site. I am going to be redoing some things this winter because I rushed the previous build. I got tired of seeing it in pieces in my basement and threw it back together. I did a rattle can paint job on the tank that looked pretty good until the first time a little gas touched it, poor choice of paint I guess. I can post some pictures if you're interested. Also, I know of a really good place for Rebel parts if you end up needing anything.

So my buddy sent me a picture!

The plan right now is to transplant everything from the 06 to the 85 at his shop then take a running 85/06 to my shop where I'll do the coolification stuff. The old alloy dirtbike tank that Kiley gave me will be making it's way back from TwistedWheels' shop to mine and back onto the little bob, as well as the nightster seat, unless I see something cool I can carve out of the stock rebel seat. The shifter shaft on the 06 motor is bent from the bike going down at some point, so I'm going to have to try heating and straightening it in order to get the cover to go on it. If that doesn't work, I'll have to figure something else out. But all in all I'm kind of getting excited. I've got lots of other stuff going on right now, Dolores, my wife's new office (lots of carpentry work over there!), and my new building to keep me busy. Plus this quickie build pushes my 71 cb350 to back of the bus. The plan is to go over to my buddy's shop after my shop is finished and start to transfer everything over. Until then this build is on a quick hold.

If you end up needing any parts there is a joint called Jacks cycle that specializes in in Rebel stuff. It's in Florida I think but you can find it on the web.
