Any help is greatly appreciated. I started my kz650 and found out i was leaking oil out if my engine(great) so what did i decide to do... Tear it apart! The previous owner(dick) used a rubber like sealant with the head and the cam, aaand that was creating the leak and i dont know what i should use to fix it... Other than that i am going to replace gasgets and i was also wondering what i should do if my first cyllinder had low compression and the piston was almost black, thanks!

The cylinder doesn't look terrible, just normal carbon buildup. If the cylinder had a lower compression that the others, which look cleaner, you will have some abnormalities just from the fuel burning incorrectly at the wrong compression.

As stated before, check your specs on everything (Piston, cylinders, rings, etc.) I would throw a new set of rings in anyways, since you are in there.

If you want to do a full valve maintenance, now is the time to do it, if you have the right tools its not a terrible job but an engine shop would be able to do it at a nominal fee. If not check that your valves are seating/sealing well with some acetone.

When you stated the PO used a rubber like sealant, are you saying it was used in place of the gaskets? Or the gaskets were in place and the sealant was applied to them? If there were no gaskets, and all that was used was the sealant, along with the oil leak that may have been a contributing factor to the low compression.
