It's absolutely fine to use! Holds up great! It gives you a nice glossy durable finish and has a decent resistance to most chemicals. I've used it on many items other than engine parts. No problems!
I second Tim, I've used some high temp paint on some parts of my 360 and I had to BAKE them to get the paint to set. Read the instructions that comes with it, see if it has to be heated to a certain degree for it to set. The stuff I used would actually re-flow at like 100 degrees and start dripping off the part.
Lesson learned on my part, don't use BBQ paint on parts you can't heat set.
