Epic ride

"This one goes to eleven." -Nigel Tufnel
A bunch of friends made the ride from Portland to OR Hwy 218, which connects the towns (and I use that term loosely) of Shaniko and Fossil, Oregon. The highway itself is only 45 miles or so, but is filled with corners, some of which are quite technical. You have uphills and downhills, some off camber, decreasing radius blind corners, and even the odd 80-90mph sweeper just to let you open it up a bit. In short, it's just amazing.

Most of the bikes that made the trip were of the older variety, and all bikes and riders came back in one piece.

Here are a few pictures. Check out our blog for more....www.rockersnw.com

NOTE: I didn't take most of these pictures, but photo credits are on the blog.

Is that road on the way to Seaside? I'm wondering cause the last time I went to Seaside with the wife and and kids there was a stretch of road that made me wish I was riding the CB. Not driving the Odysee. :'(

Sorry, should've checked google maps before I started typing. Looks like you've got some nice roads on your east side, ours are mostly straight.

Ray, you may be thinking of Hwy 53. It would be kind of a weird way of going to Seaside, but if you were on a bike, it would be the ONLY way to go to Seaside.

Yes, Matt. You should have gone. But I'm stoked you'll be along in September.

Thanks, Deux. Funnest thing about it is getting the content.
