Just finished wrapping my V&H header; i was never to keen on the look of the Supersport muffler on my bike, so i'm going to hawk the muffler and just run header only.

I've taken it around the town a few times and it's obnoxiously loud at lower RPMS and hums beautifully cruising at 4k.

What have you all done with keeping header only and tuning the exhaust (stock airbox)? I'm thinking of a shorty muffler to finish it off but wanted to solicit some 'new and interesting' ideas from the crowd.

I'm pulling the carb bank off this weekend and doing the pinesol bath, completely rebuilding and bench tuning. so any upfront jetting issues feel free to drop some knowledge on me.

You are going to be running very lean without an exhaust at the end of the headers. Also it's shitty to expect everyone else to put up with what you acknowledge is an obnoxiously loud pipe.

There are some pretty cool shorty mufflers available - check out Cone Engineering for some shorties at a pretty good price point. And who doesn't like a supertrapp on a 4-1? You may still find that you will run somewhat lean, though, with either of those. Hope you find something that suits you!
