Exhaust Leak Fix

Alright, so I have an exhaust leak on the bottom of one of my pipes. It's just an old pipe that needs to be replaced but I don't have the cash for that right now. What could be a cheap and quick temporary fix until I can scrape up the money to buy a new pipe? It's a small hole that's about 7mm long and 1mm wide.

Best option is to weld it up.

Depending on how far the hole is from the head, you may have some other options though.

It's on the bottom left (sitting on the bike) of part number 4 on the blow up diagram.

If I had it in my shop, I would sandblast it, weld or braze it, then hi-temp powdercoat it. The high temp powdercoat is good to 1000 F, and that crossover never gets anywhere near that hot. I am DONE with the ceramic VHT paints. The don't hold up for shit against weather.

Pull it and replace with straight sections to hook headers to mufflers. You might be in it $20 at the end of the day. Chain link fence rail works good and is cheap. But it will cost you the scavenging effect of the cross over.

Thanks guys. I'll just JB weld it for now. I plan to invest in a Mac 2 to 2 system in the future for it so I'll hold off on welding it straight.

Put some JB Weld on that fucker and call it a day.

Yup, done that before. Not supposed to hold up to that kind of heat but it does work well. Not a good permanent solution but will work.

i would not classify a MAC purchase as an "investment"
