Exploding Turn Signal?

I'm working on a 1975 CL360 and purchased some replacement turn signals from DCC:

They are the K&S brand. I have the single filament ones in the rear and the dual filament ones in the front.

I hooked them up and everything was working fine while in the garage. Started the bike and everything was still okay. Everything blinked and turned on.

Went out for a short ride, and my right-rear signal won't blink...but the right-front stays on.

All of the left side signals still work fine.

I opened up the broken signal to see if I just blew a bulb and found out the fixture looks like it exploded. The wires aren't even connected anymore!

The fuses look okay.

My electronics knowledge is limited...but I thought the turn signals would just be drop in replacements.

Help!

The only time I have ever seen a bulb explode, is wen it is hot from being on for a long period of time, then water drips, or splashes on it, usually when there is a broken lens, but it looks like your set up is sealed and dry.

Possibly just a poor quality bulb was installed during manufacturing.

It's not just the bulb that exploded, though. It's the entire fixture!

I ended up replacing it with another turn signal...but the SAME THING HAPPENED!

I had those same signals on my xs650 with the same problem. It's not exploding, it's from vibration and shaking/pounding they get. The tab that holds the socket on eventually failed on all 4 of mine, and the two signals i had hard mounted on the rear would typically destroy a bulb within 20-30 miles of riding. There just isn't enough room for the bulb to move around at all with the vibration and shaking they get. I switched to LED's- problem solved. Admittedly, my 650 is the typical yamaha jackhammer.
