Hey guys, I recently decided to switch back to single disc setup on my 71 cb500... so I'm selling all the parts needed to switch a 500 to dual disc. All parts were installed and used for a few months, so I know everything works.
Here's what I have:
1. Brake disc: cleaned, prepped and painted
2. Brake caliper/hardware: cleaned, painted, rebuilt with new seal, stainless steel speed bleeder
3. Caliper bracket: polished, pivot greased and o-rings on pivot replaced
(speed bleeder and two-bolt top pivot mount are not pictured, but are included)
4. cb550 right lower fork leg + all necessary hardware (cb500's didn't have the necessary mounting holes on the right fork lower): polished, lower pivot hole drilled/tapped to accept a mounting bolt (included), lower pivot mount shaved down to allow proper alignment of the caliper on the disc, fork seal replaced recently with no leaks but I have an extra fork seal I'll throw in if you want.
5. 6x longer disc mounting bolts (class 8.8, 110mm long)
6. Speedo drive plate, modified to work with dual discs, painted to prevent rust (it may look ugly, but it does work)
I'd obviously prefer to sell everything as a package deal, but I can part out if necessary. Not sure what yous guys would be willing to pay for this stuff, so I guess make me an offer/send me a PM (shipping from 35244). I'm really just trying to raise some money for a gasket set so I can finish my motor rebuild, so let me know if any of you are interested.
