Feedback on Lossa and Carpy

Hey All, thanks for reading. I am planning to work with either Carpy or Jay from Lossa on helping me put a bike together. Does anybody have any feedback on these two guys to help my decision?

run into carpy more than once at the local shop here. hes a real nice guy. loves talking motorcycles id recommend him.

Well I gotta say, most of us on here build our own bikes. You will find that DTT started with a bunch of guys in a parking garage who wanted to wrench on their own bikes. So we really cater to the Home builder.

That being said, both guys build outstanding bikes, a bit overpriced if you ask me, but good quality nonetheless.

I know Carpy is a member here, but he keeps pretty quiet, and i am sure the guys at Lossa are on here as well, but normally we don't hear much out of them. Like I said, about 85% of the bikes on here are owner built.

What exactly are you going to have these guys do for you? A complete build? Mechanics? that helps a lot in recommending a shop.

Find bore and valve work you can trust . I'm spoiled We have had for 30 years plus the area Wiseco dealer boring cylinders . I do my own head work but refer to others I trust when it comes to customers .
There is no substitute for a machinist with a proven history in motorcycles specifically . If you ever hear an auto machinist say " same thing , no difference ..." run , fast .
Find someone to do your press work until you buy the press and get used to the loud noises it can make .
Frame welding . Don't take chances unless you or the person welding has decades of experience.

Otherwise unless you want billet pieces fabed do it your self .
Sure it's intimidating to begin with but so was your first ride . You do get used to it
The pay off is being able to look at and ride a motorcycle that has had no other hands involved in its creation other than yours .
