Bahaha! Thanks for the help yesterday J. And of course thanks to Jason and Austin too. I've never seen nicer work benches....

I thought that was really a 1930's radio in the background for a minute. Then I noticed the ipod dock.

What are you talking about, they HAD ipod docks in the 1930s... Just not very many, being the depression and all.. ;)

That is a 1930s radio AND an iPod dock. Talk about mad science!

He's right. It's a scrap radio that a buddy gave me. I refinished and modified it. The guts were gone, but I stripped the inside and converted it to this. It's actually a 1941 Philco.

lol. Sounds like something that would come out of the mouths of uneducated Jersey Shore youth of today. lol.

You're not kidding! I'm pretty positive most of the youth these days don't know anything pre-Footloose(the old one mind you) era haha.. Take that back, its probably worse than that now.

Oh, those are the fridges kids used to play hide and seek in and get locked inside and died.. But I have always wanted one, they look so clean and cool.

Kiley, You know how I feel about Gretta.
Well done brother! ... and keep at it. See ya soon.

My Dad had a radio similar to that. I don't recall the make/model but his parents (my grandparents) bought it new when he was very young. So it was c.1940's as well. When I was a kid he used to listen to the Saints games on it every Sunday during football season. He had it restored around Y2K, all the wiring/circuits/tubes (yes, tubes) and the wood cabinet was brought back to "as new" condition. He left it to me in his will. I really didn't have the room here for it so I left it at his house (my stepmother still lived there) and would stop by every other month or so and listen to it. I'd still have it if that cunt Katrina hadn't destroyed it when she blew through. I've had the notion to find a similar cabinet and fill it with modern equipment for a while now. I think yours has just given me the kick in the butt to start seriously looking. Thanks :)

And Gretta looks amazing... as usual. Can't wait to see her during Vintage Fest ;)

Hey Red, I may know of one up here near Pittsburgh. The woman that has (had?) it doesn't want to restore it, and certainly doesn't want it hanging around her garage. If you wanted to do something like what Kiley did, I may be able to bring it in October.

Rich, you're the best :)
See what you can do, but don't go to too much trouble ;)

Spokes are here as of today. I smell a night of sitting in the floor I'm the living room watching tv with the wife to "let her watch whatever she wants" caliper has been shipped and looks like a delivery date of Wednesday.
