finally starting my 360

Been Around the Block
Well Im finally getting to work on my 75 CB360. I've got some Tarozzi rear sets and bars in the mail right now and a short list of things I"ll be ordering soon. The only things I'm stuck on so far are the seat, battery, and exhaust. The seat and battery go hand in hand because I'm going to hide the battery under it somehow. I cant decide between a stock battery under the seat bump or building a pan under the seat to mount a few of these http://www.advancedbattery.com/itemdesc~product~abs+12v0.8t5lt+-+12v+0.8ah+sla+battery~ic~12v0.8t5lt~eq~~tp~.htm

As far as the exhaust goes, I'm debating between a 2 to 1 set up or running the CL pipes. I'm leaning towards the CL because I've yet to find a decent 2 to 1 set up. Besides all that i just need to clean the beast up and do a little bit of maintenance.

Yeah, the plans sound great. That'll be sweet

I've got one myself. Here's my intro: http://dotheton.com/index.php?topic=7701.0

As far as the seat pan, I have a sheet of aluminum mounted flush with the bottom of the frame rails. A 12V 8ah battery squeezes PERFECTLY between the rails and is about an inch above the loop connecting the rails. Could make for a much smaller hump than mine, but I wanted it to flow well with the stock tail light. but that's just one idea. There's a bunch of 360's here and a couple going right now. I'm waiting for it to warm up (Philly) so I can get some paint down

I might go with CL pipes too. I've been inspired by the crazy exhausts of ProTeal and Derek4Real3

Can't wait to see more!

I'm working on the seat right now. I'm going to be trying my hand at fiber glassing so wish me luck. I'll post pics of the progress soon.

Looking good - if it were me, I'd round the bum stop off more, like the curve across the top of your gas tank. It's a little too squared off across the top. The front-to-back profile is nice. It could be a little lower to match the scale of the bike.

I hope you're looking for input ;) Don't mean to be critical - I haven't tried my hands at a fibreglass seat yet, so I'm not much of one to talk.

The more input the better. I was actually thinking the same thing. I did the whole thing at my apartment last night just kind of winging it. I'm going to wait till I get a battery before I chop it down anymore.

Few more seat pics. i shaved it down some more. After looking at it again i realized i forgot to shape an entire section.

i got the clip ons on tonight. its amazing how much they change the profile of the bike. ill put up pics as soon as i get the stock bars off.

got the rear sets on and im working on the seat right now. ive never used fiberglass before and so far im happy with the results. how many layers would be good for this? i feel like i probably dont have enough.

i started the body work on the seat finally. ive never even seen bondo before today and i went a little overboard. there is still a bit of sanding to do but its coming along well i think.

i got the shifter and brake linkage done. the brake has a TON of play in it before it grabs so i need to figure out a way to fix that. its more annoying than anything.

finally an update!

cut about 3 more inches off the frame and shortened the seat and also cut down the fender. new pipes are the next thing on the list.

where did you place your battery, it seems like from the pictures the hump in the seat may be too small for a battery?
