ok so ive had my 73 450 for a little while now and i finally have the time and money to work on it so i'll be posting pics and whatnot when i have them.. so here we go!
yeah i saw your thread pretty sweet, well to be honest not sure on a final design but for now im gonna go with the basics and figure out all the wiring and get the carbs all sorted out and get it running. then work on the seat and tank and all the other goodies to make it look sweet
Those are some rusty spokes Yet another 450, soon we will be a force to be reckoned with haha. Looks like you have some work ahead of you, but you're starting with one of the coolest CBs. Keep it up.
haha yeah she needs some work but im gonna try and have it road worthy in about a month so we'll see and does anyone know where i can get a repair manual and a wiring diagram for the bike?
Ok so its been a while since i posted because ive been busy with other projects. but heres an update, got the carbs re built and now this weekend im gonna look into the wiring and the brakes and pretty much the whole bike haha. my goal is to get it on the road this weekend.
alright so i have some questions, i got fuel flowing to my carbs but i cant get it to fire unless i use starter fluid and then it only fires up for a second. any ideas?
I had the same thing happen to me. Make sure your pilot jets are cleaned out. And that you made sure your gas tank is clean of debris as well or else they will just keep getting plugged.
ok well when i rebuilt the carbs i cleaned both of them pretty well and the tank didnt have any debris in it. but i'll check it again, if not that any other ideas?
ok another issue.... i cant get my throttle cables to adjust so they wont sit all the way down so it can idle, i tried adjusting the cable via the nut and bracket on the carb but even with the bracket off and the cable hanging free it still wont sit all the way down. it seems like the cable i too short?
