I do love the look of the raw seat, and since it being finished I have thought about just clearing the whole thing and calling it a day. But it really would throw off the whole idea I had for my bike when I started this build. I also thought about painting right over it as is but I don't think that would look right up against the smooth tank.
I'm in a desperate need for opinions haha. My original plan was to bondo it and paint it a candy blue but after receiving the seat pan back from Dustin Kott I'm torn between paint and keeping it raw. Obviously I'm not done sanding it all down but its close enough to get an idea of what it would look like. The tank would be etched and the polish would be dulled down a bit to match the seat before clear coating it.

Love the rugged raw look. I was thinking of making my tank raw too in the future. But I heard some clear coats have the tendency to turn yellow and it's more apparent when it's on raw? Might need to have someone clarify that. Or maybe even partially paint and partially raw would look awesome.

I've heard that some clears can yellow also. I've also been warned about using the right etching before clear cause its very common to have trapped moisture under the clear that will cause a flash rust over time.
Some higher res pics. I'll take some more tomorrow in better light. Still need to finish up stripping the tank down and do some body work before paint.
