first build 75 cl360

How tight is the drive chain?
should have about 1/2" up and down, use a BIC biro to apply pressure, if it snaps before chain moves, chain is too tight

See what I mean and its upholstered. The measurements given were way off as i wanted it to sit over the frame. Oh well another lesson learned. I tried to take the easy road and it bit me again.

hey thats starting to come along real nice

It's an ink pen made from polycarbonate.

Thanks pj for the tip and keeping it interesting and thumpers for the clarification and I will check it tonight. Gonna fill the tank with vinegar tonight as well.

Oh Jesus Christ...Ill just keep using my finger. AND I have always done 3/4 inch...I believe 3/4 is Honda spec.

Not a problem when you know what your doing but I've seen chains adjusted bar tight then been told it's 'in spec, with 20mm movement'
Using a pen gives a better idea how much pressure you should be using

8) How are you keeping busy while you let that tank sit?

I have the hardest time not touching, moving, parts while working on bikes.

I'm terrible with wet paint.

Mgd, I'll admit that I stuck a finger in the tank already. Not a good idea ;D. I still need some misc bolts so I need to make a list for fastenal. Maybe lay the battery box down and mount the taillight to it. Oh and I acquired a recliner for the garage so maybe a beer or two.

This is why im the worst with paint. It lays down nice and even, then my finger has to go and touch it for some reason. Or i pull the tape off too early.

Got the rear lights on and they all work. Readjusted the chain tension to spec. Put a mirror on which looks a little big. Going to wait on the tank until after work tomorrow. The vinegar seems to be doing a great job, not that I disrupted it a bunch of times or anything.

Time to rinse the tank. I made a tank cleaner outer so I don't have to rattle the tank around for an hour trying to get the last nut out.

Running line thru the nuts may have been unnecessary but it worked like a charm and the inside is very clean. Hung it outside to dry.

Received the new wiring harness yesterday. Hoping to have it all soldered up and electronics secured by end of day tomorrow.
