Always wanted a bike and I acquired this one through a barter for a camera I no longer use. I'm in healthcare & have no mechanical background but took this on to teach myself the trade & joy of riding something my hands put together, sorta. Since then I've bought a gasket set, oil+filters, plugs, carb rebuild, k&n pods, jets -according to a post on hondatwins & successful doers, you can pod these so I'm going for it
Thanks to Geeto67 (CR forum) I will be:
"its an old bike so hit the basics:"
- swingarm bushings
- neck bearings
- brake pads
-fluids
- fork seals (if they are leaking)
- rear shocks
- carb synch
- tires (if it needs it)
- valve adjustment
- timing chain adjustment
We never had tools or a garage growing up as it was converted to a room so I emptied out our shed and had help making this work bench. Bought tools and now I have this! Should work fine for the winter
My plan is take it completely apart, replace what I need to, rebuild the motor and have it reliable n ready to ride around next spring
I rebuilt the carbs and tried starting her up
After posting in the help section, she's alive!
