First build CB360, any help will be great!!!!!!!!

Think it might be about 3mm? I'll check, i just dropped of a cardboard template witha box of beers to a mate and thats what he did for me! I'm sanding it this arvo so we'll see how it sits on the bike.

So been a slacker lately, living right next door to work haven't been so worried if this is going or not yet....
anyway updates, clip-ons on, pipes wrapped and back on for now, seat sorted on attachment, carb parts all here and going back in tues night... things still to sort, front brake cable, speedo mount, brackets for indicators, rear guard battery box, rearsets etc.. wiring I'll sort next year.. Anyway photos to follow in a sec!

yeah the rims are what came with the bike, pretty sure they are standard.... will have some new pics soon too...
Seat is back and done, pods fitted, jetted, rewirng when back from holiday then should be closer to rolling!

G'day from over the water a bit!

Just looked through and saw the stock tyres were 3.00-18 and 3.50-18. I had the same sort of grief on my GS450 with getting tyres. 1.60-18 front rim and 1.85-18 rear rim don't make it easy to start with, and I wanted dual sports to make it even more difficult.

I ended up with a Pirelli Scorpion Trail 100/90-18 front and Pirelli Scorpion MT90A/T 4.10-18 rear and so far I'm lovin' 'em. They seem to stick quite nicely on the road but haven't ridden in the wet yet (no rain over here at the moment and no wet weather gear).

Just thought it worth a mention if you decide to go for some more modern style tyres...

Also, glad to hear you've been safe through the 'quakes... Looks like you guys have had a horrid time of it lately... it was bad enough with the floods here in Brissie last year without having 'quakes as well!

So been a while since I got much done, but seems like the ball is rolling a bit faster now, greater enthusiasm for completing! Over the last few days on holiday (trailered the bike with), my bro in law re wired most of the front end of bike, tidied up all the ugly wires and we drilled out and re wired both the coils, added the front indicators, and put the signals in the head light with small leds. Added a pic of finished seat too. Have left in trailer as last few things to do are fab up a battery box and tray, brackets for rear indicators and speedo, and find/ get a nice rear guard.... Getting close!
Pics attached show some new progress...

I think your clutch-cable don't need a zipcode of it's own.. Otherwise its a sweet bike!
How did you fix the seat fabric to the metal?

Oh, the speedo cable needs shortening, it's just zip tied to bike for now, the nut is fucked at the bottom so haven't got off yet, also need to shorten the clutch cable! The seat has a metal base with wood underneath so the leather is just stretched and stapled.

like the seat upholstery. I am doing a seat just like that on my CB360 build. Are you able to share the details on the upholstery? ie, cost and who did it? Thanks.

Yeah, I live in Christchurch, New Zeland so not sure if that helps... But I made the base myself, got the leather for free from an upholstery place, just off cuts. Then took to a place called Marshall Upholstery, cost $130 NZD all up

Super slow atm, however creeping closer.. Need to take better photos etc..
Anyway my bro has shortened clutch, speedo etc, so all the wiring is now super minimal, no more clutter up front like had been there forever.. Made a speedo mount that is hidden in one of the top tree previous riser holes. You cant even see, super stoked with that. And finally found a rad old rolled guard so have been working out how that mounts with a hidden mount for the tail light. Been rather tricky as the guard hits seat so it had to be cut out level with the base of the seat so it would work. The plate will sit a little higher, snugger to light. Now just need to tidy it up a bit, weld the bracket in, matt black some more shit! To get back on the raod just needs the tray welded in and a massive tune up, tappets need adjusting etc.. Heres a quick pic of the rear as is, wil take some more photos soon, show the front end etc.. Hopefully be done in next 2- 3 weeks ..

Despite what people say I haven't heard of anyone ditching their Firestones for anything else.

I think there's a real good reason
After spending $350.00 or so, it's pretty difficult to 'junk' the tyres and admit you were wrong
People tend to justify things with the 'look' they were after

OK,....Here is what I posted on my thread the other day.

I would like to make a note about my tires.
I have gotten along fine w these Coker Vintage Firestones. Ive put over 1000 miles on them, without issue. I am not a speed racer. I cruise around. Sure I have hit 80mph on em a couple times, on nice smooth straight stretches of asphalt. I am in central Illinois. 99% of my riding is 65-70mph on straight roads w the occasional long S curve. My riding consists of 65% Asphalt & concrete, 30% chip & tar, 5% loose gravel.

I dont recommend them on loose gravel.
I dont ride in the rain. I dont ride when roads are wet.
I dont recommend them on cafe racers.
I dont recommend them for tight leaning corners. (they are square shaped)
Not high speeds
I am 45 years old, I got all that worked out of me a long time ago
I am planning to go Avon at some point in the future.

Kids today ::)
I'm OLD (55) but got my nickname for a reason
This is an old pic (Dec 2011 ;) )

Yes grandpa we know.....LOL HA,
and another thing. I did build my bike for "The Look" The look I was after to suit me. If I gave a rats ass bout others opinion about my bike, I wouldve went home crying a year ago. just read through a few of the opinions given on my thread about my build...lol
So, Moglix you go right on ahead and build your bike any friggin way you see fit.
Just as long as you dont run those tires in the rain. etc etc etc
