Yes they are. The cupped metal washer should fit on them almost perfectly. I didn't use any felt washers or anything. I just put the cupped washers ( or caps) on the bushings and it fit perfectly back in the frame.
Also, make sure the bushings get pressed all the way in. I think the collar is supposed to be just barely proud of the bushings so that when you tighten the bolt the frame clamps up on the collar and not the swingarm.
By collar I mean the tube that goes in between the bushings and the swingarm bolt. I don't know for sure but it seems to me you don't want the frame to clamp up on the swingarm because then you will be restricting the free motion of it.
Btw what would be the best way to remove the factory bushings? I was thinking about buying a small torch and a long screw driver or something and pound them out the opposite side.
Just used a knurling tool on my lathe. I threaded a set screw into the swingarm bolt, or you could weld the hole closed. You should be able to buy single grease nipples from an autoparts store.
Thank you! I really wish I could move as fast as half of other members on here with a project, but unfortunately school and work is taking up every minute I have.
I'll be working on the engine once I'm done with the chassis, so hopefully I'll learn a thing or two as I go along. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
Doc, I happen to think you are moving pretty quickly! I passed the year mark a few months ago on my 450 build. It's funny how things like work/family/etc take you away from the bike for weeks at a time. Keep up the nice work!
I've got these but the instructions are confusing. Do you think you could enlighten me on how the installation on these goes?? Talk to me like I'm a 12 year old......cuz mentally... well.........
