Does anybody have any advice on removing the old gaskets from the carb boots? Hard to use a blade since they're rubber. :-\

Peal off most of the gasket by hand then Put a sheet of fine sand paper on a nice flat surface and slide the boot back & forth till the reaming is gone.

Did a little electrical work.

And the only way I could think of mounting the CB200 tank. Drill holes through the tabs in the front and also drill holes in the frame and tap it. Then use spacers and bolts to bolt the front. Then I had to flatten out the rear mounting tab on the tank so I could use the factory CB450 bracket. Hopefully it works out.

Where is a good place to buy closed cell foam for the seat?

Got some things done. Coils are finished and installed. So are the carbs and throttle. Just waiting on my battery and the braided sleeve so I can finish up the wiring.

Do you guys know where I can find a fitting for the petcock? It's missing one. Or maybe anywhere I can find any type of fitting I could press in. Didn't have any luck with google.

Maybe get ahold of the carb manufacturer and get the size maybe they have them ? Bikes coming together man keep it up!

What would you like to know? I just ran each cable one at a time, then zip tied them together separating the routes, then sleeving.

Btw I cranked her up today. I'll post a video tomorrow.

I'm hopelessly lost about how to wire up my bike. My original harness is all chopped and ruined and I'm seriously stuck.

Getting reeeeal discouraged unfortunately.

Are you rewiring like original? Keeping all your electronics? Have you looked at a wiring diagram?

Here's the video of the first start up. No pods or filters, straight carbs. Won't hold idle, so I need to put some pods on and figure out the issue. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi doc. Yeah I'm rewiring mostly original. I eliminated the starter motor and went kick only, but besides that it's pretty much stock. I know it's a pain questions like this, so no worries if you don't feel like helping. I'm sure I'll figure it out, I know it's not an easy one.

Oh I don't mind helping at all! After all, I had to ask others as well .
What I pretty much did was I do one wire at a time, and use zip ties to route them around. Start out with the charging system first. Get the rectifier, stator, and regulator wired up. Then from the main feed, wire one thing at a time, using zip ties to route the wires where you want them to go. Make sure to use fuses and relays. Or at least one of each. Take your time, and just have a wiring diagram out guiding you what to do next. It's wise to use a fuse in between each feed so if you ever have electrical issue you can sort it out quickly.
