My first ever trip longer than a few hundred miles was from Moncton, NB Canada to Kingswood West Virginia. July 21-25 2010. After joining this site to learn to fix a blown up CM400T and all the help and good folks I met, Troybuilt opened his home to us for the first ever DTT GTG. I was the only Canadian to make it but I met folks I consider some of my best friends on that trip. I had 1130 miles to do and sisnce I had never done any trip longer than a day, and had never driven farther south than Boston in the USA I planned it all out. I left early on the Wed, had a stop all planned North of Hartford CT. Nice little campground on a lake. I got there at 3 PM and was still in fine condition, but it is where I planned to stop so I did. Set up tent, grabbed a 6 pack and a pizza and enjoyed the lake etc. Hit the sack at around 9 pm and set alarm for 6. Woke up, showered, packed and hit the highway by 7:30 am. and hit a dead stop in traffic at 8. I was stuck on the freeway north of Hartford until 11 am. I learned my first lesson. If you can keep going safely do it and have more than a single spot you can stop. Made it by 8 PM to WV and hung out with Troy for the evening and most of the next day waiting for everyone else to arrive that Friday. List of folks I met and still talk to even if they may not be active on here much.

Troybuilt (Host) and most excellent person. He and his family are great, salt of the earth caring people.
JustinLonghorn - Asked if it was too early to have a beer when he arrived at 11 am or so and I just smiled and cracked 2 open, cheers!
Kanticoy (Denise)- The mad scientist, he was building Greta at the time and if you don't know that bike, look it up. We had to scrounge some parts but we got it riding, and His better half was fun to teach her to ride on Go's RD.
Von Yinzer - A man who can drink me under the table sometimes and that's damn impressive, he also is the other Mike who can fall asleep in weird places. And is also a great writer and overall good dude
Go! - A great lady who could out wrench and out ride half or more of the dudes.
Beatnic AKA Dave Doug. Crazy good rider and currently a sidecar Monkey Too.
Big Rich - Haven't seen him much lately but another Beaver PA guy and I still like him
DJElliot - the great rd200 dumper
GrooveyAardvark - The Auzzie
Bobdot AKA Bobbert the catfish noodler!
Travis and Jenn, I can't remeber their screen names but they are a great couple of people! Wait found it ThompsonMX100.
Swagger - Lee you need to get back on DTT cause I killed my FB and you stoppped your blog.

there are a few others I still remember the faces but I suck at rememebering names.

some of the picks are gone but here is the thread from after one of the best road trips ever with the best folks I've met.

I gone on to do these trips as often as I can and keep meeting more and more folks because of Motorcycles and DTT!
Mid-O and Barber etc.

The ride home was uneventful but the trip was worth it.

Cheers!
