First real ride

Been Around the Block
Took my 750 for her first real ride today (legally). Got her first full tank of gas since who knows when. Friday I went through the exhausting process of title, inspection, and tag. She now wears a shiny red sticker on the frame that reads "Salvage Rebuilt". I figured that it would be a nightmare, but it only cost me a couple hours waiting, and an extra $5. I titled it as an antique, and was able to use a 1972 motorcycle tag! It appears that if a vehicle is titled as an antique, it can be registered to a vintage tag, as long as the issue year of the tag matches the year of the vehicle. At least that's an option here in Kansas. I don't know about other states.

First ride,,,,I have not even laid eyes on mine yet and, I have parts off it but no bike to show for it. As for the Vintage tag that is sweet, I think we can get away with that here in ohio as well.

53 and rainy on the way in to work today and I still rode in, going home in 30 minutes and it is still 59 out but sunny.

I've ridden her to work everyday this week. Mornings have ranged from 48 to 65! Gotta love Kansas. I still have some brake issues to work out, and the front end feels very spongy. I think with 15wt oil and some spacers in the forks, it will stiffen up nicely.

Glad to hear she is doing good. Still cant wait to see it in person. You ought to enter it into the Rose Hill Fall Festival Car and Bike Show on Sat Oct 10th. In fact, both you and Woody should enter your bikes. I would take one of mine if they were ready. Hopefully next spring I will have one of them done and will be able to enter a few bike shows. Call me if you are interested and I will give you the details.

Youve got my number, just let me know when you are available. This weekend is out though, too much crap going on.

I just got a 1981 Yamaha SR250 for my first bike. I took it on the rode DEC 21 2009 for the first time ever in my life of riding a motorcycle. Not bad for a girl

Congrats Jones (and Teresa)! Feels good to get your wheels on the pavement, doesn't it?

But Teresa, you should introduce yourself on "Member Introduction", more people would notice there.
