First ride of the year! Triton

After 4 1/2 months of hibernation my Triton saw light of day. The sun was out, it broke 40 degrees and I rode for several hours on the empty, curving bluff roads next to the Mississippi River. I was dressed right and did not mind the cold because I was so happy to be finally be riding again. F^%ing beautiful! For those in warmer latitudes, try staring at your bike for more than 4 months without starting or riding it and you'll understand.

Fresh oil, fluids and battery and she ran beautifully. The roads were still sandy in spots and icy in the shady spots so I took it easy in the curves and opened her up on the straights. I am still smiling and looking forward to summer!

Awesome man! THe bike looks awesome and im sure it was even more fun riding it! I just picked mine up and its still in pieces, but i might have to steal my dads bone stock CB450 for a ride today. 50 degrees on long island....might have to take advantage of it!!!

congrats!!! i took my first ride in about 4 months also the other day, its so liberating.

it was 50 today here so i took advantage of it and did some riding, it was great!

What a beautiful bike. I love that second photo.

It's always nice to finally have the opportunity to get out the first time of the season.

I rode today too. felt good after being snowed in over a month.
We might hit 60 the next 2 days here in MD.
Time to fire up the bar-b

Thanks for the inspiring post, Swan. Your Triton is one of my favorite bikes on here!
I can usually ride year round here in Oklahoma and so couldn't really relate. But this year has been nuts. We've had more snow than I've ever seen here in 35 years. Between the snow and mechanicals I too have not ridden since October. I fixed the bike on Saturday, though, and went for a ride. It was great. It wasn't as scenic as yours, though. The snow banks make some good pictures.

Yeehaw! I need to get out there too.

On a side note - where can one pick up front fender Y mounts and fender like I see on many Tritons? I need to set something up like that on my wanna-be Triton.

What's all that white stuff on the ground behind the bike? ??? :p

While yes we here in the extreme south are blessed with year 'round riding weather, y'all northerners have better roads. ;)

I took this about a week ago, but I've been out riding fairly consistantly since about the end of Jan.

Thanks everyone! Glad to see other riders are out and getting out for the first spring rides.
Cycletherapy after a long winter.

Front fork holder Y brackets are by Converta in the UK. Frank at Clubman Racing in the US and Unity Equipe in the UK sell them, but both are pricey and specifically drilled for Norton Roadholder lowers. Make your own out of 3/16" 6061 aluminum. Look at a few pictures, mock them up in cardboard and cut your own at a fraction of the price.

Yup - that was the original plan, but I thought I'd check how much pre-fabbed ones ran. Any chance of getting the spacing of the roadholder mounts? Maybe they're the same as my Yamaha ;) Just maybe.

I got my Manx seat from Clubman Racing actually. I'll have to dig around their site a bit more.

I must get my cage projects finished! The urge to ride is growing daily. I hate being afoot :'(

Hey swan! Bike looks great. Man, thats a purdy brake.
Pop has got his unit Triton finally gotten pieced together. So we put a hundred miles on a pair of Tritons. Anyway, good work!
