First time hit by a car.....

He was an OK guy, but unfortunately I was too stunned to give the police my report, so the liability may fall into my lap.... His stated that I decided to drive straight into him, hit the front left side and was dragged back before falling.
I'm too depressed to give my bike a proper once over right now. I spent mucho time and money over winter putting it together....trying to forget about it till this insurance evaluator comes around (and probably suggests we don't count the $$$$ I put into the bike and just go by blue book value of a stock cb350).
The right carb is bent enough for the idle speed screw and the arm attaching it to be rendered useless, but I found a spare body in a box of crap, though, but thanks. I would definitely be interested in a new tank, although mine is matte, guess I could fill it in and paint it a real color easily. I'm worried about the frame and forks or triple. Something is bent big time up there. Also the frame was chopped at the rear and a brace added and I'm concerned there could be some structural damage.
Basically I have zero time and zero cash to take care of any of this before say, December, so I don't know what I'm gonna do. It's also a steep learning curve for me these skills having only been acquired the hard way over the last two years. Lock the bike away for the year I guess. Bummer.

BTW everybody, thanks for your words as well as offers of support and help, appreciate it big time!

Wow man. Just saw this. So glad youre alright. Like everyone else here, if I can help... Just say the word.

I am glad you are okay.
I hate riding on the BQE. But it's still not as bad as being cut off by a fraking cabbie in the city.

Thank god bro. Glad to hear it. Got hit in may by a car going about 20mph and destroyed my leg. Always amazed to hear about escapes from higher speed crashes. Glad you're okay

Too bad you do not have any witness accounts and phone numbers. That will suck if you get stuck being at fault. What took you down? Did your handlebar hook something on the car?

I hit a car that I passed at about 70mph that was turning left and bent a rear turn signal back, had to lift my leg up over the hood, kept going but I was shaking in my shoes. Probably scared the shit out of them too with the open meggas. Ran into a drunk pedestrian once that had just stumbled out of a bar into the street, probably scared the shit out of him, kept going. Real life is stranger than fiction.....

Glad to hear your OK.
It may be cheaper to get an attorney to file your statement than accept blame?
He/she should be able to do it on contingency?
Check for motorcycle specific attorney's in your area

Hey guys, UPDATE; I guess I purchased great insurance without realizing. The liability is not going to be a factor in my work/refund cheque. If the repairs are gonna cost more than insured value (I predict with parts they will, it's not a total mess but I think the LABOUR will be long) they are just gonna cut me a cheque, to the AGREED value (I just upgraded with all the work, paint and parts I put in, phew), which is gonna allow me to buy another bike! I may even be able to keep her to fix myself!!! And I just got the cb750 in pieces to start on too. Too many bikes!
Any 71 Bonneville for sale?
