First Try At Machining

This is the result from my first project using a lathe. Turned out rather well. I used solid 1" bar to turn the Pegs, and 1/4" x 4" bar for the Arms. I made a pocket on both the small and large arms to fully enclose a bearing. I made bushings out of delrin to give a .020" space between the peg and arm. I made a back plate that will rest up against the bike frame.( the nut in the picture is just to hold the bolt in place until I mount them on the bike) Anyways just thought I'd share. Let me know what you think

Very nice, looks pro. If you do another set, you should take process pictures. I inherited a metal lathe but unfortunately I have no one to help me make cool parts like this.

VERY nice!

would definately put them on my bike!

it would also look great with a few speed holes on the shifter/brake arm.

I agree, I was going to do some sort of hole pattern or cut-out but the mill at my work has been down and I didn't want to risk having to scrap these because of sloppy holes using the drill press. This is my first bike build ('79 Cb400 HawkI) and I'm just trying to see what I am capable of doing/making. When I build my next one I won't settle for anything less than PERFECTION! lol
