new to the forum and this might sound like a stupid question but how in the world do you get the round rubber seal to sit in the groove of the float bowl its extreemly frustrating.

Put down the gasket sealer...
Get a can of spray carb cleaner and get that crap off!
Is the gasket wrinkled from being folded or the wrong size? Either way once you get the gasket sealer cleaned off everything, you can try putting the gasket under or next to a shop light incandescent bulb to make it softer. That might help... along with the grease in the floatbowls groove
